Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the average turn around time?
A: Once we start your order, envelopes are generally designed in 1-2 days depending on how fast we come up with something you like and approve. From there it takes 2-4 Business days to print for and 5-7 Business Days on 5.25" x 7.25" Envelopes. We then ship using ground UPS which takes an average of 1-3 business days for ship out of CA, FL, NJ, OH, and TX.

Q: How do I approve the envelope design and go ahead to print?
A: By email only. Sorry we do not accept any approval for print via phone, text, or by talking face to face....it has to be approved via email confirmation. The design proof will be emailed to you and we can make any adjustment(s) necessary after hearing back from you. A final proof will be emailed to you and you will need to double check all the content to make sure it is correct and once it is you can let us know via email that the cards are good and ready to print. Note that no changes can be made once we receive the go ahead to print.

Q: How thick is the material that is printed on?
A: We can print envelopes on 70lb Premium uncoated and 70lb Linen uncoated.

Q: What is 4/4, 4/0, etc?
A: This refers to the color of which is being printed. 4/4 is often refered to as 4 "over" 4, in which the first number represents the color process for the front of the printed material and the second number refers to the color process on the back of the printed material.
      4 is full color (CMYK)
1 is greyscale or black (K)
0 is blank - no print

Q: What is the difference between CMYK and RGB?
A: CMYK is the primary colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) used in 4-color printing. CMYK is what we use to reproduce full color on the printed material.
RGB is the additive primary colors(red, green and blue), used to display color in video monitors. Printing with a file created using RGB color mode will produce a washed out appearance. EKD does not use RGB for printing it is stricktly used for web graphics.

Q: How can I insure the print color I see is what will print?
A: Short answer is there is no 100% was unless your computer monitor was calibrated, remember you may have different monitor settings (brightness, contrast, color, etc) then what is seen when actually printed. We recommend you print out the sample proof on a thicker piece of paper to get a feel for the color. Also please note that different coatings such as UV, Aqueous, and Spot UV will have different effects on the printed material which will sometimes make the colors appear to be light or darker. Prints should generally be within 5-10% though of what you see. If you have a specific color you must have please let us know it's CMYK or Pantone color.

Q: Does your design fee on the envelopes include a logo if I don't have one?
A: Simple answer - yes, but it will just be standard fonts and we don't do a whole lot of back and forth regarding it....if you want a designed logo for your company that would be a completely different job which we can do for you as well....please check out our logo design prices and samples by clicking here.
